BACKGROUND
An independent financial broker or lender is supposed to act in your best interests and not in the interests of the insurer that they have recommended to you. If your broker/lender has received commission payments from an insurer and kept this hidden from you, or they informed you that they would receive a commission but did not say how much the commission was and how much this would cost you, then this is a breach of their professional duties and you may have a claim.
